Piranha Games has officially announced that MechWarrior 5: Clans is set to release in 2024 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
The storyline of MechWarrior 5: Clans revolves around a highly skilled team of mechs belonging to a clan known as Smoke Jaguar. The game is set during Operation Revival, an invasion of the Inner Sphere. Unlike its predecessor, MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, which offered an open-ended and procedural gameplay experience, MechWarrior 5: Clans will introduce a linear campaign, representing an evolution in the franchise’s gameplay.
In addition, players will have the opportunity to customize and upgrade their mechs, allowing for personalized loadouts.
Although Piranha Games has confirmed that MechWarrior 5: Clans will be available on consoles, it remains unclear whether it will be exclusive to the current console generation, including PS5 and Xbox Series, or if it will also be compatible with the previous generation, including PS4 and Xbox One.
Earlier this year, Piranha Games’ president, Russ Bullock, hinted at the development of a new MechWarrior game. However, the official announcement was postponed until later in the year. Now, we finally have confirmation that MechWarrior 5: Clans is scheduled for release in 2024.
