Alpha:

0800 to 1600 hours

Beta:

1600 to 2400 hours

Gamma:

2400 to 0800 hours

Most senior officers are assigned to Alpha shift but from time to time anyone may be called to do double shifts or work evenings or nights

As per regulation, a red alert condition brings alpha shift on duty automatically
