	Now barren, scarred by volcanic eruptions and ancient planetary bombardment.

History:	The once peace loving Martassians only lived for exploration and peace. They taught their children the ways of other people and acceptance. They had reached a period peace and harmony that was unmatched by any other Omega Quadrant species.
	They enjoyed their life for several hundred years until two other species (the Praxians and the Angrolians) had attained warp drive. What ensued was a battle for territory between thos two races, which placed the Martassian homeworld in the middle of their conflict.
	While trying to get the two races to accept one another, both races decided that the Martassians needed to be destroyed. Not because of their peace loving ways, but because they were in the way. Both races viciously attacked any of the space faring creatures that the Martassians used for their journeys, and started slaughtering any Martassian colony in any other system.
	Years passed by as the Martassians continued to be hunted and slaughtered. As their numbers shrank to the hundreds, they decided to venture into the one science they thought they would never have to research. Necromancy.
	Spending most of their time researching the art of bringing people back from the dead, they discovered a way to make the Icker. With their population down to fifty people, they injected the Icker into themselves, and made themselves into ‘zombies’.
	Now, five hundred years later, the now named Thanatosians seek to make their population grow by any means necessary (which usually means making other races into Thanatosians).
Political Structure:	Once an elected official ran the affairs of the Martassian people. Now, as Thanatosians, the fifty original Thanatosians now lead as a council, passing down decisions that will effect the rest of their turned legion.
Technology:	The Thanatosian technology has remained unchanged for five hundred years. The space faring creatures they once used to travel the stars were given heavy doses of the Icker in order to return to their masters.
	The ships and stations have nearly inpenetrable shields, however lack in fire power an maneuverability.
	In all intents and purposes, Defense wise, they are higher than the Federation, however as far a offensive capabilities, they stand no threat to even an Intrepid Class starship.
Life Expectancy:	So far, the Icker has let the ‘live’ for at least five hundred years. It is believed that unless they are completely disintegrated, they are truly immortal. Only time will tell.

Other Features:	Due to their lack of being alive, the Thanatosians are somehow immune to telepathic scans. Not only that, they appear to any psionic race as moving vortex’s of nothing. Which unnerves telepaths and the like and usually makes them want to keep their distance.
Birth Methods:	Since the Thanatosians are dead, they cannot reproduce. However, with the Icker, they can create other Thanatosians by injecting it into a recently deceased, or inject it into a living individual (which is not above them). However, if the latter is done, the Icker will kill off the natural immunity and then start to shut down all of the persons organs, in effect, killing him before making him into an undead Thanatosian.
Abilities:	Also, since the Thanatosians are dead, they do not need to eat or breath. And can survive the effects of a vacuum. (Since most of the time, for security reasons, their ships have no atmosphere and are often exposed to the harshness of space.)
	Due to their lack of being alive, the Thanatosians are somehow immune to telpathic scans. Not only that, they appear to any psionic race as moving vortex’s of nothing. Which unnerves telepaths and the like and usually makes them want to keep their distance.
Personality:	Although friendly by nature, Thanatosians have a tendency to be very xenophobic until proven that the trespasser has no ill wishes towards them. However, their ultimate goal is to replenish their species, by any means necessary.
	Also, They have an undying hatred towards the Angrolians and the Praxians, and will go to any lengths to make sure that those two species feel their wrath. And will make sure that any of their allies suffer the same fate.
