History:	The Gyt'Rx have always been a rather cultured society. When they first discovered the warp drive they set out on missions of exploration, to find new worlds for colonies. When one of their exploration vessels was destroyed by a hostile Sheliak starship, they began a massive armament program. The Gyt'Rx went to war with the Sheliak, only to make peace some ten months later. The resulting peace treaty brought the two species to an uneasy truce, they have never truly trusted the Sheliak since. After that fateful encounter with the Sheliak, the Gyt'Rx have become much more militant, warring with other species at times. Recently, however, the Gyt'Rx have attempted to build alliances with other species, in light of the conflict between the Reptilian Alliance and the Federation-Klingon-Romulan coalition.
Political Structure:	The Gyt'Rx government is called the Hive, the Hive Lord is the most senior warrior in the officer corps of the Gyt'Rx Hive, the Hive Lord is basically the president of the Gyt'Rx government. Gyt'Rx officers are seen as the height of their societal development, the military portion of the Hive therefore lords over the civilian part. Civilian Gyt'Rx do play an important part in the Hive, though, they run the various bureaucracies that the military often relies on.

Skin Color:	They don't have skin, per se. Their exoskeleton, however, may be colored anything on the color spectrum

Other Features:	Gyt'Rx can most easily be described as ant people. The look like, in the words of a Starfleet officer meeting one, "Big intelligent ants." They walk on their four lower legs and use their upper pair in a way that's similar to the way a humanoid uses his hands.
Birth Methods:	They lay eggs, young Gyt'Rx are hatched from the eggs.
Abilities:	An average Gyt'Rx can lift four times it's weight, some Gyt'Rx athletes have been known to lift eight to ten times their weight. As such, Gyt'Rx are very strong and difficult to face in close combat. They are fairly fast, for their size, but they are not very agile, a human can easily out maneuver one. They have a high level of "hand-eye" coordination.
Other Information:	The Gyt'Rx are a completely atheist society, they have no gods and believe themselves to be the best organisms possible. They do, however, have an immense respect for authority, even if it comes from a non-Gyt'Rx. They are generally quite friendly to all species and tend to hide their belief in their innate superiority quite well, though they will look down on any kind of religion.
