SEALs HANDBOOK

Welcome to the exciting world of the SEALs.

In Starfleet, you play the role of a Starfleet officer... You have the opportunity to be whoever you want to be, and the opportunity to do whatever you want to do... simming is easy and enjoyable, and I guarantee that you will love it.

With the establishment of an Intelligence Fleet, Starfleet has introduced the role of a SEALs team. In addition to simming your character as a regular member of the crew of your vessel, you may also be approached to join the ship's SEALs team.

The team was devised with one purpose. To conduct covert operations and missions that could be hazardous to a normal away team. There is a high degree of risk involved but also the potential for some amazing simming opportunities.

The purpose of this handbook is to inform you of how the team functions, and the possible positions that are available within the team. Since you have already completed Academy training we will forgo any explanation on the matter such as simming instructions. SEAL mission are posted like regular sims, just with a great deal more action and sims are expected to be posted within a quicker time frame.

Please take the trouble to read this handbook carefully... it will help you a lot...

Some tips:

Get to know your crewmates. Talk to them.

Ask if you feel unsure about something. You can always write a private e-mail to your CO, XO or anyone else.

Some rules of conduct:

Treat your fellow crewmates and the people behind them with common sense, decency and respect you would in real life you are a team after all.

Do not kill, mutilate or do anything else that alters another character's situation, without asking. The SEALs missions are extremely high paced and as a result one can get carried away at times.

Remember that on the SEALs team there is still a chain of command that must be respected, your actions will be judged and responded to accordingly.

ALWAYS obey your senior officers, and conduct the duties stipulated by your position on the team (see below).

NPC - Non Playing Characters

Like a Starship or a Starbase, which have hundreds and thousands of crewmembers, the SEALs team also has such a need. Therefore we must fill up with Non Playing Characters. This can be done to fill vacant positions or to enhance the plot and add some life to the story. These you can kill if you like unless they are devised by another crewmember. In that case, you will need the creator's permission to use them.

Like the original Star Trek, the SEALs team is composed of some "red shirts", after all we can't have the main characters getting killed can we?
